365 days a year
There are a few bloggers that I check out every day. Why? Well, there are a couple of reasons:
- They usually have something interesting to say.
- They post every day.
Most bloggers (including me) don't do even one of these consistently. In fact, I pretty much suck at blogging. One reason is I don't try too hard. If I'm bored I may post. If there's anything else that's happening that's even remotely interesting, I do that rather than post. I'm pretty much OK with that.
Where I work, soda is free. You just go down to the "kitchen" and grab whatever you want. This led to me getting to a point where I would drink up to 6 cans of soda every day. About 3 years ago, I read an article that said that drinking carbonated bevereges was bad for you. I didn't know whether to believe it or not but I decided to try going without drinking anything carbonated for one year. I did it. I don't know if it helped a lot but I did get into drinking water which I hardly ever drank before. After the year was up, I gave myself permission to go back to drinking anything I wanted. After doing that for 2 years, I will drink an occasional soda but nothing like what I would consume before my carbonated-beverege-free year. I don't notice a big difference but I do feel healthier.
So what do these 2 paragraphs have in common? I'm going to start another one year experiment. This time, I will blog every day for a year. I'm doing this as an experiment. Actually, not even an experiment. I don't have a hypothesis I'm trying to prove or disprove. I just want to see what happens. Another reason I'm doing this now is that I'm about to move into a new phase of my career at work. I think it will be interesting to blog about that to have a record of what this next year was like after it's over. So, today is day 1 of 365.
